Maia Holmes - Founder and President

- Why do you care about water issues? Water is our most important resource because it's the one that unifies all of man kind; regardless of how old you are, where you come from, or what skin color you have, we ALL need it to survive! There is something really powerful about that.
- What's the best thing about being involved in the WaterAid Chapter? The opportunity to make significant changes in the community; through all of our events I have been able to make real connections with people about the importance of water. It has also been inspiring to see how many people have been supportive of our mission, it gives me hope in our future.
- If you could be a superhero, who would you be? I'd be a hybrid of The Flash and the ultimate acid-free rain cloud! That way I could travel around the world as fast as lightning providing natural, clean rain to regions that need it!
Elle Minter - Vice President
- Why do you care about water issues? Clean water is vital to all living beings. As a person interested in human and environmental rights, I recognize the importance of not only providing clean water to all people, but also keeping out local ecology healthy and thriving. Diversity is stability!
- What's the best thing about being involved in the WaterAid Chapter? San Marcos is a very environmentally sensitive area, with the San Marcos River and the various endangered species that call it home. Being involved in Texas State WaterAid gives me a chance to steward this environment and become more intimate with it's specific ecology.
- If you could be a superhero, who would you be? If I could be a superhero, I would be myself and spread native plant seeds all over our natural areas, bring plenty of rain showers to replenish the San Marcos River, get all of the bottles and cans from the bottom of the San Marcos River, end clear cutting, and apparate. Maybe one day, I actually will be considered a superhero. Oh, and world peace.
